Letting Your Money Work for You
Term share certificates (referred to as CDs at banks), generally provide a higher rate of return when you agree to leave your money on deposit for a set period of time - from six months to three years. These savings accounts are a great idea for members with a specific savings goal, such as a down payment on a large ticket item, a special event, holiday, or even retirement. After all, a share certificate's higher rate means your money is working harder for you!

Share Certificate Terms
The minimum balance requirement on most Members Credit Union certificates is $2,000.  Dividends may be paid monthly, quarterly, semiannually, annually, or at the certificate's maturity - at your choice. You may also choose to have dividends paid to you by check, by deposit to another savings account, or by having it reinvested in the certificate.

Redeeming Your Certificate
At the end of the certificate's term, you may redeem your certificate without penalty.  Otherwise, it will be rolled over for another term equal to the original certificate.  If you redeem your certificate prior to maturity, a substantial dividend penalty will be imposed.

60-Month Certificate
The minimum balance requirement on our 60-month certificate is also $2,000, but other restrictions apply. This CD can only be opened with money not currently on deposit at Members Credit Union. As with all share certificates, early withdrawals will incur a significant penalty.
